Search for Survivors Along the Stream

Search for Survivors Along the Stream

As soon as you exit the facility, take in the lush Kinglor Forest’s sights and sounds, but don’t become too absorbed. If So’lek and the other escapees have not yet done so, follow the stream downhill to look for them.

When you approach, you may see a few galloping creatures fleeing, but nothing here should be hostile. The stream empties into Dyer’s Bowl Lake at the end of the stream, so stay on the right side of the water until you reach it.

From the wreckage of one of the RDA’s mech suits (called AMPs) and choppers, you should see a small plume of smoke. As you follow the wreckage line northwest along the riverbank, follow the wreckage line as a new trail.

You should be able to spot a small Fueling Station past some trees on a small hill on the right when the path of wreckage drifts off to the east away from the river.

By climbing over the crates at the front of the station, you can find more ruined AMPs near a larger tree on the other side of the station where So’lek rests. His torch (or bow, in this case) has been injured, and it’s up to you to pick it up.

Craft Arrows Using the Archer’s Thicket

Na’vi have the ability to sense the flora and fauna around them, allowing them to find what they can use to aid them in using their bows.

From So’lek, turn around and look over the hilltop to the west using the prompt. A small spot of pink leaves with rigid stalks should be visible in your Na’vi Sense, which you can view by pressing the indicated button.

A thicket of sturdy stalks makes great arrow shafts, which is why it is called the Archer’s Thicket. Harvesting the thicket and gaining 1 bundle of Sticks is as easy as walking up to them and interacting with them.

You will need to craft the sticks into arrows for your new bow instead of simply harvesting them from the thicket. Using the same wheel as for viewing your food, you’ll now find two tabs with food and weapons listed – one for each. The ammo you can craft for your longbow will appear when you highlight it. The ingredients for regular arrows are your only choice, so hold down the prompt to craft ten of them from a bundle of sticks.

In order to have spare materials on hand, find more Archer’s Thickets and harvest a few more sticks on the edge of the hilltop so that you can hold 20 arrows at a time.

So’lek will still need some healing items to get back on his feet, requiring pods from the Dapophet plant. They are larger plants that rise up with star-like fronds at their top, and small, barnacle-like pods along their thick stems, and can usually be found near water.

With that in mind, head back the way you came over the Fueling Station and down to the river where the RDA wreckage was. If you get turned around, be sure to pull out your map and angle the view to see around the fog to where the Dyer’s Bowl lake is.

At the lakeside edge, you’ll likely hear the sound of gunfire. Turn to the north, and you can spot some RDA humans firing at some hostile wildlife that your Na’vi Sense marks as Hammerhead Titanothere. These high level creatures aren’t to be messed with, but the lakeshore they are at is full of Dapophet Pods…

Forage for a Dapophet Pod for So’lek

The Dapophet plant will provide So’lek with the healing items he needs to recover. A large plant that forms star-shaped fronds at the top and bears small, barnacle-like pods along its thick stem, these plants are usually found near water.

Forage for a Dapophet Pod for So’lek

In that case, go back the way you came over the Fueling Station and down to the river where the wreckage of the RDA was. You must angle the view to see around the fog in case you get turned around to Dyer’s Bowl lake if you get lost.

There is likely to be gunfire heard at the lakeside edge. Your Na’vi Sense identifies some hostile wildlife as Hammerhead Titanothere to the north of you. There are Dapophet Pods along the lakeshore they are at, but these high level creatures aren’t to be messed with…

Utilize the opportunity to harvest a few pods while they attack the humans along the shore. When the soldiers are killed, the creatures turn on you, and one hit is likely to be sufficient to kill you.

Upon reaching the Fueling Station, find the RDA has found So’lek and run back up the lakeshore. Another soldier in an AMP suit is backing up the soldiers surrounding him.

Fortunately, you can use your Na’vi Sense for much more than just finding plants. You can use it to highlight enemies and weak points on the AMP suit, which are two small exhaust ports on its back. Make sure you aim well and put a few arrows in your bow. You can skewer the small humans surrounding So’lek with one arrow each due to your giant size and big arrows.

If you start taking damage, remember that you can also make use of the Dapophet Pods if you had collected some extra, and instantly heal yourself (Z on PC), or let your health regen if you still have energy stored up.

As soon as the enemies are defeated, give the pod to So’lek so that he can heal his wound.

The rest you were enjoying will be short-lived, as more RDA will fly over, prompting So’lek to chase you and urge you to join a nearby camp. Resistance is the only way forward.
