FCFMT Admission Requirements

General Requirement

  • In one or two sittings of SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB, applicants must have five (5) O’Level credits in relevant subjects. Before logging in to fill out your e-application form, candidates are advised to check the Admission Requirements for respective National Diploma Programmes below.

Post UTME Requirement

  • FCFMT must be chosen by candidates on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) as most preferred institution on the UTME registration form, scored at least 100 in 2024/2025.

Specific Requirements

1. FISHERIES TECHNOLOGY:

  1. Five (5) Ordinary Credit pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and one of the following: Physics, Economics, or Additional Mathematics obtained at not more than two (2) sittings and any other qualifications considered relevant by the Academics Board.
  2. Meeting the minimum cut-off score in the JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Chemistry, Biology / Agricultural Science. and Economics.

2. MARINE ENGINEERING:

  1. Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any one (1) from: Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Basic Electronics, Metal Work, Woodwork and Geography obtained at not more (2) sittings.
  2. Meeting the minimum cut-off score in the JAMB UTME in the following subjects, English Language, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.

3. NAUTICAL SCIENCE:

  1. Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Geography and any one (1) of: Chemistry, Technical Drawing, and Economics/Commence obtained at not more than two (2) sittings and any other qualifications considered relevant by the Academic Board.
  2. English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Geography must be met as the minimum cut-off scores in the JAMB UTME.

4. MARITIME TRANSPORT AND BUSINESS STUDIES:

  1. Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in Mathematics, English Language, any other three (3) of: Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics/ Commerce, Geography/Physics, Accounting and Marketing obtained at not more than two (2) sittings and any other qualifications considered relevant by the Academic Board.
  2. Meeting the minimum cut-off score in the JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Commerce/ Economics, Geography/ Government.

5. INDUSTRIAL AND LABOUR RELATIONS:

  1. Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than (2) sittings in English Language, Mathematics, and other three (3) of: Economics/ Commerce, Government/ Bookkeeping/Accounting, Literature in English or Teachers Grade II Certificate at Merit Level in five(5) relevant subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
  2. Meeting the minimum cut-off score in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Government, Economics/Commerce and Literature in English.

6. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:

  1. Five (5) Ordinary Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one (1) other subject from: Biology, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Economics, Statistics/Technical Drawings, Auto-Mechanics, Metal Work, and any other relevant subject
  2. National Technical Certificate (NTC) with credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and in Mechanical Trade areas.
  3. Meeting the minimum cut-off score in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

7. COMPUTER SCIENCE:

  1. Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two (2) sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other two (2) subjects from the following: Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science
  2. Meeting the minimum cut-off score in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and one of Geography, Economics/Chemistry.

8. HYDROLOGY & WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT:

  1. Five (5) Ordinary Credit Passes at SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two (2) sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics or Geography and any other two (2) Science subjects plus at least Pass in Chemistry and Biology.
  2. Five (5) Credit Pass in an NBTE recognized preliminary National Diploma course offered in a Polytechnic or similar post-secondary technical institution. The credit Pass must include Mathematics, Geography and Physics.
  3. Meeting the minimum cut-off score in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

09. OCEANOGRAPHY AND FISHERIES SCIENCE:

  1. Five (5) Ordinary Credit Pass at SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any two other subjects.
  2. Five Credit Pass in relevant subjects obtained at final examination of an NBTE recognized preliminary ND programme offered in a College of Agriculture or similar post-secondary Technical institution. Such students must have ‘O’ level WASSC, SSCE, or GCE PASS IN Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Language.
  3. Meeting the minimum cut-off in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Geography and Biology.

10. SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY:

  1. Five (5) Ordinary Credit Pass at SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, and any two (2) subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science, and one (1) subject from Economics, Commerce, Further Mathematics, Geography, Computer Studies and Technical Drawing.
  2. Meeting the minimum cut-off in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Geography and Chemistry.

How to Apply for FCFMT Post UTME Form

Register at www.fcfmt.edu.ng after paying N2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) at any branch of a commercial bank via REMITA through the College’s website.

A. ONLINE PAYMENT

1. On www.applications.fcfmt.edu.ng, candidates will choose their application type from the menus. Specifically, they should select POST-UTME. The following information would be required from prospective candidates:

  • Surname
  • Middle Name
  • First Name
  • UTME Registration No
  • Telephone
  • Email Address

Applicants must have an active telephone number and a personal email address

2. Click on PROCEED

3. Your personal information will be displayed on the next page along with the transaction reference number. Select how you want to pay your application fees:

  • Click on the Remita “Pay Now” image to make payment

4. A transaction Success page will be displayed once you make payment.

  • Your application can be continued after 24 hours if you pay your RRR number at the bank.

B. ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR ALL CANDIDATES

STEP I :

  • Please return to applications.fcfmt.edu.ng after you have completed the Online Admission Screening Exercise and clicked on the CONTINUE APPLICATION button.

STEP II

  • You will need to log on to the FCFMTC Online application platform at http://applications.fcfmt.edu.ng with your JAMB Registration Number and SURNAME, if you applied for the POST-UTME screening.

STEP III

  • Carefully fill in your personal details as required
  • Carefully enter your UTME details
  • Fill in your O’Level details
  • Make sure that the photo of your passport is not more than 20KB (jpg), and then upload it.
