Leaks of the Google Pixel 8 Pro have just surfaced… from Google themselves

Google’s own leak of the Pixel 8 Pro provides us with a lot more information about the upcoming device, which is set to be announced early next month.

It went live around the same time yesterday, with a 360-degree view of the new device, colors, and features. There are no longer any updates, but our lovely X (formerly Twitter) users captured all the pictures we need. It’s unclear if it’ll be among the best Google Pixel smartphones, but it’s strange that Google leaked its own. Given that the iPhone 15 release date is right around the corner, maybe it’s on purpose…

As shared by Mishaal Rahman on X, there are three colors: licorice, porcelain, and sky. Other features confirmed by the leak include a temperature sensor and sim-card tray. Following Apple’s decision with the iPhone 14 in the US, lots of companies are expected to phase out sim-card trays.

There will be no details revealed until the full Google event on October 4, but it’s a good preview of what to expect. In terms of aesthetics, it looks identical to the 7 Pro, so the real excitement might lie in what’s inside and how far Google’s Tensor G3 can go.

After the launch of the Google Pixel Fold, which was one of the best foldable smartphones, perhaps the Google Pixel 8 Pro will also be considered among the best 5G smartphones.

Check out our guide to all the exciting Techtember events beyond the Google Pixel 8 Pro. Next week, Apple will host its Wonderlust event. We’ll review JBL Soundgear Sense and show off the new Honor V Purse concept phone. Techheads are living in exciting times.
