We would like to inform all candidates whose WASSCE results have been held that WAEC has released the held results of a few candidates who have not been found guilty of malpractice, but were just upheld. The results of examinations conducted by candidates who have been found guilty of examination malpractice could also not be obtained.
This decision was taken by WAEC NEC on 12th October 2022 following the 74th meeting of the WAEC NEC, which ended on the 12th of October. An announcement of the above was made in a press release that was signed by Demianus Ojijeogu, the Head of Public Relations. As stated, it (NEC) authorized their entire results to be thrown out when it is determined that candidates were involved in examination malpractice.

After the next meeting of the national executive committee, either or both of the following things will occur: Some held results will be released and some held results will be canceled. The NEC will decide which results it wishes to release and which results it wishes to cancel after the meeting.
In cases where there is no malpractice allegation against the candidate, WAEC releases a held result. There will be a CANCELLATION of a candidate’s exam if he or she is found to be guilty of the allegations of exam malpractice. When a result is canceled, it can’t be released again! There will be delay for candidates to defend themselves in case they are called to testify. The WAEC NEC will be the only one entitled to determine if a candidate has been found guilty or not of the allegations against them.
